Lanza's Cafe in Carrboro is always keeping an eye out for amazing people to build our team! We are not hiring at all times, but positions become available here and there especially once the college semester begins and ends! Responsibilities:

• Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and beverages, such as grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, preparing espresso drinks and serving items to customers.
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
• Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Maintain a positive work environment and cafe vibe
• Properly handle and maintain all equipment
• Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings and upsell when possible
• Prepping a variety of items to set the next shift up for success
• Working together as part of a fun, high-energy team
• Follow health and safety guidelines Interact with customers regularly and professionally

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a barista, customer service, or food service
• High integrity with a great attendance record
• Strong attention to detail and efficiency
• Strong ability to multi-task in a high volume environment
• Ability to quickly problem solve
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods
• Flexibility to work a variety of shift times
• ServSafe Certification Preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older (due to beer/wine service)
