Skills and Competencies

  • Full‑Stack Development: 4+ years of experience developing backend services using Python (Django, FastAPI, or Flask) and frontend applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to implement and maintain product features end to end
  • Cloud‑Native Development and DevOps: Hands‑on experience building containerised or serverless applications on cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure to support scalable and reliable deployments; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is preferred to improve release efficiency
  • Databases, Architecture and Security: Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, and a working understanding of system design, secure coding practices, authentication, authorisation, and encryption to build secure, maintainable applications
  • Quality Engineering and Tooling: Experience with automated testing frameworks, API testing tools, version control systems, container technologies, and Unix‑like environments to ensure code quality and stability; experience developing Microsoft Teams apps is preferred
  • AI Awareness and Professional Skills: Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable, secure software solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality products
  • Develop and maintain backend and frontend components using Python‑based frameworks and modern web technologies, working independently on assigned tasks with regular guidance
  • Build and support reliable, scalable applications on cloud platforms, following established architectural and operational standards
  • Design, enhance, and test REST APIs and system integrations to support seamless data and service communication
  • Write secure, efficient, reusable, and testable code while adhering to secure coding practices, authentication, authorisation, and data protection requirements
  • Work closely with product managers and designers to deliver responsive, user‑friendly interfaces aligned with business and user needs
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team discussions to maintain quality standards and support continuous improvement
  • Contribute to CI/CD improvements and DevOps practices to improve deployment reliability
  • Document technical designs, workflows, and APIs, and stay current with emerging technologies that may benefit the product

About the team

The Corporate Systems team, part of the Technology Services Group, supports Moody’s core business and technology operations by enabling reliable day‑to‑day execution, strong coordination, and effective governance across corporate platforms and shared services. The team partners closely with senior leaders, product teams, and key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive operational excellence while also advancing innovation, including the adoption and enablement of AI‑driven capabilities. By bringing structure, clarity, and rigor to complex environments, Corporate Systems team members contribute to high‑impact work that improves how technology is delivered, operated, and evolved across the organization—helping ensure Moody’s systems are resilient, forward‑looking, and positioned for continued growth.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $95,500.00 - $138,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
