Half-Day Lead Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)

Summary

Master’s Garden Preschool is seeking a part-time Half-Day Preschool Lead Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year , beginning in August 2026 . This position leads a classroom in our Half-Day program, providing Christ-centered care, supervision, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool-aged children. The Half-Day program follows the Orange County Schools calendar for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, school-year position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM , with holidays and summers off .

Duties

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Half-Day preschool classroom
• Provide a stimulating and varied program of play and learning opportunities
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children in care
• Plan, implement, and schedule developmentally appropriate classroom activities
• Lead curriculum planning and classroom record keeping
• Guide and support any classroom assistant(s) as needed
• Maintain proper classroom discipline to promote a positive learning environment
• Keep the classroom safe, clean, organized, and engaging for children
• Lead age-appropriate prayer, devotions, and Biblical integration throughout the day
• Encourage children’s progress in all areas of development through active interaction and play
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families
• Build positive relationships with parents and support their role in their child’s education
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development as requested
• Assist with other preschool duties as directed by the Director
• Arrive on time and consistently follow the established work schedule

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles
• Understanding of classroom safety and sanitation practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Must model appropriate and respectful behavior toward children, families, and co-workers
• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to live under His Lordship
• Must support the mission of Master’s Garden Preschool and Christian education

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

• Previous preschool teaching experience

• Experience leading a classroom and planning curriculum
• Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices in a preschool setting
• Experience integrating Biblical principles into classroom teaching
