Registered Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Location: Fayetteville, NC 28304 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Facility: Short-term acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
• Unit: Rehab Brain Surgery (Rehabilitation Nursing)
• Shift: 5x8-hour evening shifts (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), every other weekend required
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,870 - $1,920
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: All contracted shifts guaranteed after 2 call-offs per 13-week assignment
• Local Candidate Policy: Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient rehab RN experience (rehabilitation nursing experience required)
• Active Registered Nurse license (state of North Carolina or compact RN license)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Return staff must have a minimum 1-year break in service
• Compliance with facility background check and licensing requirements

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from brain surgery, stroke (CVA), spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions
• Administer medications and treatments, including anti-seizure drugs, anticoagulants, diuretics, and insulin protocols
• Monitor and manage patient safety: fall risk assessment, pressure ulcer prevention, infection control
• Perform skilled nursing procedures: IV starts, blood administration, central line care, tracheostomy care, PEG tube management, Foley catheter insertion/removal
• Educate patients and families on disease management, rehabilitation techniques, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float between similar units as needed to support patient care
• Document all care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
