Job Summary:
Picking, packing, and shipping customer orders are essential shipping department duties. Shipping department personnel must fulfill shipping orders by picking the right product from inventory and packaging the goods using the correct packing material to ensure quality that is up to company standards. Other tasks include creating a shipping label and packing slip for each item and scheduling shipment with the right carrier. Must maintain shipping records with UPS, Freight, and FedEx, which usually involves accurately entering the information into a computerized system. Shipping and Receiving workers are responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received and provided updates to the Production Supervisor and also make them aware of any issues if they would arise. Picking, pulling, and packing are required. A successful shipping personnel must be dependable, responsible, detail oriented, thorough, and takes pride in their work.
Essential Job Duties:
The shipping department Associate is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, material and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Works on product staging; Sleds / Chutes / Blasters.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment using the ā6-Sā system:
- Sort - Set in order
- Sustain - Shine
- Standardize - Safety
Shipping and Receiving Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience with UPS WorldShip or FedEx Ground
- Receiving, stocking, and stacking in an organized manor
- Experience in pulling, packing, and picking
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency with high attention to detail
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Able to bend, twist, push, pull as jobs require
- Being flexible to work on weekends if needed
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
