About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Fraud & Claims Operations Representative within Deposit Specialty Detections as part of Fraud & Claims Management. This role supports the detection and prevention of check fraud by reviewing check images, validating transactions, researching suspicious activity, and resolving fraud-related cases. Team members work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment, managing high-volume work queues while maintaining accuracy, quality, and adherence to established controls and procedures. Responsibilities include investigating lost and stolen check activity, identifying potential fraud risks, and helping protect customers and the bank from financial loss.

In this role, you will:

  • Review check images and transactional data to identify potential fraudulent activity and operational risks
  • Research and resolve fraud-related cases, including lost and stolen check claims and deposit exceptions
  • Validate transactions and supporting documentation while ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and controls
  • Work within a high-volume production environment, managing work queues and meeting quality and productivity expectations
  • Analyze account activity and escalate complex fraud concerns when appropriate
  • Support fraud detection efforts by identifying suspicious patterns and mitigating potential losses
  • Utilize multiple systems and applications to research, document, and resolve cases
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners, operational teams, and other stakeholders to resolve customer and account issues
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of customer service support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience reviewing check images, deposit transactions, or exception processing activities
  • 6+ months of Fraud detection, fraud prevention, or fraud investigation experience
  • Knowledge of check processing, deposit operations, and transaction validation procedures
  • Experience researching and resolving lost and stolen check activity
  • Knowledge and understanding of bank systems including: Hogan, UW, Lexis Nexis and OIB
  • Ability to work effectively in a queue-based, production-focused environment with established performance goals
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skill
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing transactions and customer information
  • Ability to achieve productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience identifying operational risks and investigating transaction discrepancies
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and applications simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Schedule:

  • Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to attend and successfully complete the full 6-8-week paid training program (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST).
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to support business needs.
  • Must be able to work on-site at the posted location.
  • This position follows a hybrid work schedule and is only available in the location listed.
