Senior Quality Engineer
As a Senior Quality Engineer at MacLean-Fogg, you will establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality standards for products and processes. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate quality risks, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards. The Senior Quality Engineer plays a key role in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and mentoring junior engineers to build a culture of quality across the organization.

- Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 (depending on skills and experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain quality standards for products and processes.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, manufacturing, and suppliers, to identify quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, and suppliers/vendors to ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards, including ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
- Lead complex investigations into product defects, non-conformities, and quality failures. Use advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable certifications. Prepare and assist with external audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality documentation, including audit reports, Non-Conformance Reports, CAPAs, and other quality-related records.
- Participate in APQP activities to ensure product and process quality throughout the product lifecycle.
- Prepare, compile, and submit approval of PPAP packages to support new product launches or engineering changes.
- Follow and enforce all company policies regarding safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of quality engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficient in root cause analysis, failure analysis, and quality improvement techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and quality issues to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Proven leadership ability with experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers, driving teams toward quality objectives, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making. Proficient in using statistical tools, Excel, Minitab, or other data analysis software to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Required to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending and stooping required.
- Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
