Architectural Designer

On-Site | Clemmons, NC (Not Remote).

Topsider Building Systems, Inc., designer and fabricator of high-end, custom post-and-beam residential and light commercial structures since 1968, is seeking a highly motivated Architectural Designer to join our Design & Technical Services Department.

This is a high-end residential design-focused role, not a drafting or interior design position.

Core Qualification (Required):

• Strong design and plan development skills, with the ability to translate client needs into well-resolved architectural solutions.

Education:

• Degree in Architectural Design or a related technical field.
• Professional license not required.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of architectural design experience including residential design work.
• Direct client interaction required.

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, and building officials nationwide.
• General knowledge of building codes required.
• Experience with coastal construction, elevated structures, and wind-loading is a plus.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients, sales staff, and project managers to develop custom residential and light commercial designs.
• Coordinate with the CADD Manager on architectural drawings and shop details.
• Work with consulting engineers, building officials, and select contract partners.

Work Schedule:

Flexibility required to meet deadlines and attend key meetings. Occasional Saturday or early evening availability may be necessary.

• Salary: From $75,000 to start, commensurate with experience and qualification.
