Job Title: Acute Care Rehab – Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Gastonia, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks (extendable)
Shift: 5x8 Hour Days | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Wed
Pay Rate: $2,518 Weekly Gross
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an acute care rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, swallowing, and communication disorders in an inpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with speech, language, and swallowing impairments.
Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) procedures independently.
Manage a minimum caseload of 8 treatments per 8-hour shift .
Rotate between main acute care facility and secondary satellite site as needed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, nurses, and occupational/physical therapists to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, and strategies for continued care.
Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and safety standards in all patient care activities.
Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required).
MBS and FEES Competency (Required).
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) (Required).
Active State SLP License (Must be in good standing prior to start).
