Intermediate Node Back End Engineer

We're looking for a Mid -Level Backend Node.js Engineer to join our engineering team building a guest experience platform for the hospitality and entertainment industry. You'll work on the core backend systems that power theme parks, resorts, and entertainment venues—helping millions of guests have seamless experiences.

This role focuses on API development and cloud infrastructure, working with a modern microservices architecture on AWS. You'll be designing and building GraphQL APIs, implementing event -driven systems, and contributing to infrastructure -as -code practices. You'll work collaboratively with senior engineers who provide technical requirements, entity diagrams, and architectural guidance. We expect you to apply critical thinking—identifying gaps in requirements, interpreting architectural patterns, and evaluating trade -offs.

Responsibilities:
<\/div>

• Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Build and optimize serverless Lambda functions in TypeScript, including cold start optimization <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Work with DynamoDB for data modeling, query optimization, and advanced patterns (GSIs, LSIs, transactions, conditional writes)<\/span>
  <\/li>
• Implement event -driven microservices using EventBridge rules, scheduled jobs, and DynamoDB Streams <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Apply conditional expressions for concurrency control and data integrity <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Contribute to infrastructure -as -code using Terraform <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Debug and resolve complex distributed system issues <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain high code quality standards <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability <\/span>
  <\/li>
• Update technical documentation, entity diagrams, and flow charts following implementation <\/span>

  Requirements <\/h3>

  • 4 -6 years of professional backend development experience
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency with Node.js
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Hands -on AWS experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, and serverless/microservices architectures
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Solid understanding of NoSQL/DynamoDB <\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Experience with Terraform <\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Experience with AWS SES for transactional email
    <\/li>
  • Familiarity with monorepo structures and tooling
