Home Service Technician" Assistant

Position Summary:
The Handyman Service Technician Assistant supports the Lead Technician or Handyman Technician in completing residential repair, maintenance, and improvement projects. This position assists with preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist technicians with general home repairs and maintenance including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and minor installations.

• Prepare and clean job sites before, during, and after work is completed.

• Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials needed for each job.

• Help with installing fixtures such as shelves, cabinets, doors, light fixtures, and hardware.

• Support basic tasks related to plumbing, electrical, and general home repairs under supervision.

• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they remain clean and in good working condition.

• Follow safety procedures and company guidelines while working on job sites.

• Communicate effectively with the lead technician to complete assigned tasks.

• Provide courteous and professional interactions with customers when on site.

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.

• Interest in learning home repair and maintenance skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

• Valid driver’s license preferred but not always required.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or general labor.

• Familiarity with basic home repair tasks.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist with multiple projects.

Work Environment:

• Work is primarily performed in residential homes.

• May require lifting materials, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions.
