Preschool Assistant Teacher Floater (8:30 AM-5:30 PM)

Summary

Master’s Garden Preschool is seeking a dependable, flexible, and caring Full-Day Preschool Floater to support our classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children in a Christ-centered environment. This position helps provide consistent supervision, assist with classroom routines, support teachers during transitions and breaks, and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment throughout the day. The Floater plays an important role in helping the full-day program run smoothly while building positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Duties

• Provide classroom support as needed throughout the full-day program for infants through preschool-aged children
• Assist Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers with daily classroom routines, supervision, and transitions
• Help cover staff breaks and provide support during high-need times of the day
• Maintain a warm, caring, and engaging environment for children
• Model positive, respectful, and Christ-centered behavior with children, families, and coworkers
• Support children’s development through play, guided activities, and daily interactions
• Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in classrooms and shared spaces
• Follow all safety, health, and supervision standards at all times
• Communicate with staff in a helpful, cooperative, and professional manner
• Assist with light classroom tasks such as setup, cleanup, nap support, diapering/toileting support, and meal/snack transitions as needed
• Step into different age-group classrooms comfortably and adapt to changing daily needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
• Must be able to work well with a team and adapt to different classrooms and age groups
• Strong communication skills with tact, patience, and kindness
• Genuine love for children and an interest in supporting their growth and development
• Must understand and follow safety and sanitation expectations
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
• Must be able to meet physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and active supervision of young children
• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to live all aspects of life under His Lordship

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a preschool, childcare, or early childhood setting
• Early childhood credentials or coursework
• Experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Familiarity with diapering, toileting support, and classroom cleaning routines
• Ability to remain calm, flexible, and cheerful in a fast-paced environment
