Junior Buyer

Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Junior Buyer for a contract assignment with a leading global manufacturing company in Cary, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional looking to grow a career in supply chain and procurement. The Junior Buyer will support purchasing operations by managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring deliveries, and helping ensure materials are available to support production schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Purchasing Manager and Buyers with daily purchasing activities and special projects.
  • Create and process purchase orders using an ERP system (SAP experience preferred).
  • Manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery, including obtaining quotations, reviewing order acknowledgments, and tracking shipments.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and vendor records.
  • Work closely with suppliers to expedite orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assist with supplier negotiations under the guidance of senior buyers.
  • Partner with Planning and Production teams to support material availability and production schedules.
  • Review order confirmations for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and Accounts Payable.
  • Coordinate return shipments and vendor returns.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and customers regarding order status and delivery timelines.
  • Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, customer service, or an office environment preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of purchasing processes and inventory management.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
