• Shift Information: Fri/Sat/Sun 7am-7pm

About Facility

Located at 10628 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210, the facility has a total of 373 licensed beds, including 344 Acute and 29 Inpatient Rehab beds. The Emergency Department (ED) has 30 beds, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 46 beds, and the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) has 40 beds. There are 70 Observation beds and 14 Operating Room (OR) Suites. The facility does not have a trauma designation. We offer X-ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine with Radiology Nursing support. The facility is TJC Stroke accredited. Note: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of the home unit.

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses/Procedures

The department caters to ED, Inpatient units, Observation units, and Outpatient services. Common procedures include:

• Embolizations: Visceral GI bleed, Uterine Artery, Prostate, Liver Chemo
• Port insertion/removal, nephrostomy tube insertion, IVC filter placement/retrieval
• Biliary stent placement/check/exchange, Vascular Stent placement, Angioplasty
• Venacavagram, G/J tube insertion/check/exchange, Double J Stent placement
• Suprapubic insertion, Fistulagram, Fistula declot, CO2 Angiogram, Venogram
• Trifusion insertion, Pleurex Catheter insertion (Chest and Abdominal)
• PICC insertion/exchange, Perm catheter insertion, Vasacath insertion
• Hickman insertion, Hohn insertion, Transjugular Liver Biopsy, Sheath Pull (Arterial and Venous)

Licenses and Certifications

• ARRT(R) required
• BLS required
• Vascular Interventional Radiology (VI) - preferred

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of GI Bleeds/embolization, Nephrostomy tubes, IVC filter placement, and Suprapubic catheter insertion is required. Please inform the manager if there are any common procedures the tech is uncomfortable or inexperienced with.

Support within the Department

• Only tech if working overnight
• 3 techs scheduled daily, rotating through circulating, scrubbing, and documenting
• Nurse Support
• Radiologist

• EMR: EPIC
• PACS: Philips iSite
• Department-specific Equipment: Phillips monitoring system

Floating

No floating required.

Orientation

• Administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review, etc.) – 1 day
• Departmental orientation: 2 days to 1 week (as needed)
