Staff Accountant I
The Staff Accountant I will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and create financial reports for a portfolio of clients. The position will report to a Senior Accounting Team member. The Staff Accountant will join an established team that currently provides accounting and compliance services to 200+ companies and has earned a national reputation in supporting businesses who have received government grant funding. Preference will be given to candidates who intend to pursue a CPA.
- Completes financial entries in QuickBooks for clients on a monthly basis.
- Coordinates with Senior Team to obtain required supporting information from clients.
- Documents missing supporting materials and communicates same to Senior Team.
- Completes Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Completes Journal Entries.
- Completes bank reconciliations.
- Retains and files financial documentation and supporting information.
- Enters payroll.
- Prepares 1099s.
- Prepares financial reports from Quickbooks.
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
- Familiarity with business accounting
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to convey information and ideas clearly and concisely
- Proficient at planning, organizing & managing projects
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- Open to continuous learning and feedback
- Work well independently and cooperatively with others
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or comparable experience
- 0-2 years experience in accounting
