This contract opportunity seeks a skilled Registered Nurse experienced in Stepdown or Progressive Care nursing to support a 20-bed unit in the Mooresville, NC area. The role focuses on providing specialized care for patients recovering from complex surgeries and critical conditions, including those involving hepatic, pancreatic, women's, and plastic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients step-down from intensive care units
• Manage complex patient needs including drain care, central line maintenance, G/J tube management, and administration of heparin and cardiac drips
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and perform NGT placement and management
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including CNA support, resource nurses, charge nurses, and specialty teams such as IV/VAT and telemetry technicians
• Utilize advanced technology such as Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and bedside telemetry monitors to support patient care
• Engage in a rotating weekend schedule and holiday coverage with shift options from early morning to night

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 18 months of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Skilled in critical nursing procedures and management of multiple surgical drains
• Strong teamwork and flexibility to float within regional facilities as needed

Contract Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend coverage
• Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training
• Parking provided free of charge
