Recreation Aide (Part-Time)
Pay Rate: $17.26 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Description:
The Recreation Aide assists with the planning, supervision, and implementation of recreational programs, including afterschool programs and community activities. This position helps provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for participants while supporting Recreation staff with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage participants during recreational activities to ensure safety and positive experiences
Assist with afterschool programs, recreation programs, and special events
Lead or help facilitate games, sports, arts and crafts, and group activities
Drive a 15-passenger van to transport participants for program activities or field trips
Set up and clean up activity areas and equipment
Enforce program rules, safety procedures, and behavior guidelines
Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, participants, and families
Assist with attendance, participant check-in/check-out, and basic program support tasks
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license (required)
Must be able to safely drive a 15-passenger van (required)
Experience working with youth or recreation programs preferred
Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in recreational activities
Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
