About the Role:
As a Junior Estimator, this position will be a key member of our pre-construction team, working closely with and learning from our Lead Estimator. Applicants must be detail oriented and who can follow SOPs. They will provide vital support in preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for our custom home, renovation, and commercial projects. This role is designed for a motivated individual who wants to build a career in estimating and grow with a successful company.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Assist the Lead Estimator in preparing detailed cost estimates, including material take- offs and labor costs.
Learn to analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to help create accurate estimates.
Support the team by communicating with suppliers and trade partners to gather pricing information.
Work alongside our design team to understand project details and assist in pricing
selections.
Help gather and organize necessary project information, such as surveys and reports.
Maintain clear and accurate records for all estimates and related documents.
Assist in reviewing project plans to identify and communicate any potential issues.
Learn how to factor in requirements for certifications like Energy Star and Green Built into estimates.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications):
A strong interest in residential construction and renovations; 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry is a plus but not required.
A basic understanding of construction materials and methods, and a strong desire to learn more.
An eagerness to learn how to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and technology in general; familiarity with estimating
software is a bonus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A motivated and organized individual who can manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
