Travel RN Job Details – Wilmington, NC

  • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Locum Tenens)
  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Telemetry
  • Start Date: September 2, 2025
  • End Date: December 2, 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)
  • Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (18:45 - 07:15)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700 - $1750
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 (surgical step down), 1:5-6 (lower acuity)
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Scrubs: Navy
Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State (required by start date)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac nursing or PCU/Stepdown/IMC units
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, management of cardiac drips, and post-cardiac cath care
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
  • Epic EMR charting experience preferred
  • Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses (e.g., atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD)
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
  • Administer and titrate cardiac drips, perform sheath removal, and provide post-cardiac catheterization care
  • Assist with cardiac and thoracic procedures (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, etc.)
  • Operate specialized equipment: arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, chest tubes
  • Document patient care using Epic EMR and follow SBAR communication protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and support services)
  • Participate as a member of the Storm Team or Hurricane Team during disaster response
