Pine Valley Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Minister of Music and Worship who is passionate about God, gifted in music, and devoted to shepherding people in worship.

About Us

Pine Valley is a growing, medium-sized congregation located in the vibrant and coastal community of Wilmington, NC. Our church family reflects the diversity of our city—retirees drawn to our beautiful community, young professionals building their lives here, and recent graduates from UNCW who’ve chosen to stay.

We embrace a blended worship style, honoring the richness of hymns while celebrating the energy of modern praise. Our desire is for every service to be an opportunity for people of all ages to encounter the presence of God and join together in joyful worship.

The Role

The Minister of Music and Worship will serve as both a leader and a shepherd, working alongside our Senior Pastor and Pastoral Team to:

• Create and lead engaging worship experiences that draw hearts closer to Christ.

• Equip and mentor volunteers, helping them grow spiritually and musically.

• Direct choirs, praise teams, and bands, encouraging participation and growth across all groups.

• Lead special and seasonal events that point our church and community toward Jesus.

• Pastor and care for the congregation, ministering across generations with love and grace.

This role is not simply about leading music—it’s about leading people into the presence of God.

What We’re Looking For

• A strong musician (vocal and instrumental), with experience leading choirs and praise teams/bands.

• A heart for ministry—loving people of all ages and helping them use their gifts for the Lord.

• A proven leader who can inspire growth in both choir and praise team participation. (Our choir averages 30+ members weekly, and we long to see that number continue to grow.)

• A minister who meets biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry, is in agreement with the BF&M 2000, and has education/experience in a thriving church setting.
