Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available in a K-12 school setting located in Lumberton, NC. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential occupational therapy services to students throughout the school year, supporting their educational development and functional independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services based on individualized education programs (IEPs) for K-12 students
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student needs within the educational environment
- Assess students motor skills, sensory processing, and fine motor abilities to develop effective intervention plans
- Document and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and progress reports
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to goal setting and treatment planning
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Licensed or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy settings preferred
- Knowledge of K-12 special education requirements and IEP processes
- Strong munication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with educators and parents
- Ability to adapt therapy methods to meet individual student needs in a classroom environment
