The Opportunity
This is a career development position designed for ambitious landscape professionals who want to advance into leadership. As a Crew Leader in Training, you'll work alongside experienced leaders while developing the skills needed to lead your own crew. Through our structured mentorship program, you'll gain hands-on leadership experience and progress toward a Crew Leader role.

What You'll Do
- Learn by doing - Work with experienced Crew Leaders on all landscape maintenance activities including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, mulching, and landscape enhancements
- Develop leadership skills - Gradually take on supervisory responsibilities with guidance from your mentor
- Master quality standards - Learn TJL's standards for excellence and how to ensure work meets client expectations
- Build technical expertise - Expand your knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance, equipment operation, and proper techniques
- Grow communication skills - Learn to interact professionally with clients, team members, and project managers
- Problem-solve - Develop the ability to think critically and address challenges in the field
- Participate in training - Engage in ongoing education opportunities to enhance your skills
- Prepare for advancement - Work toward promotion to Crew Leader as you demonstrate readiness
What Makes You a Great Fit
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of landscape maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of mowing, trimming, planting, and landscape equipment
- Willingness to learn and take direction from mentors
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to follow instructions and execute work orders accurately
- Basic technology skills (smartphone/tablet use for time tracking)

Requirements
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical labor
- Commitment to completing the mentorship program
