Junior Project Manager - Commercial HVAC Projects

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects within a hands-on subcontractor environment.

This role is designed for someone ready to grow into a Project Manager, with increasing ownership over project execution. You’ll work closely with field teams, vendors, and leadership to support HVAC systems, piping installations, and day-to-day project coordination from preconstruction through closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer or junior APM looking to build a long-term career in project management.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sites
• Track project schedules, costs, and progress, escalating issues as needed
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and support procurement of materials and equipment
• Communicate with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders
• Participate in jobsite visits to support field operations and monitor progress

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction (APM, Project Engineer, or similar)
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems (residential-only experience will not be considered)
• Background working for a mechanical contractor or HVAC subcontractor
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong interest in growing into a Project Manager role
• Basic understanding of scheduling and cost tracking tools
• Comfortable in a hands-on contractor environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
