The career opportunity for you:

Recore Electrical Contractors is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer, responsible for creating, developing, and improving mechanical components, products, and systems using engineering principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software. They work closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and project managers to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Assists in the development of drawing standards and shop processes.
• Develop technical drawings, layouts, and specifications for structural & mechanical components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers to convert conceptual designs into manufacturable products.
• Modify and update existing designs to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Take task/projects from conception to completion in a timely manner.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and accurate tolerance analysis.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product documentation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs can be produced effectively.
• Support prototype development and testing.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
• Coordinate design within machine capabilities of shop fiber laser and press brake.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes .
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications .
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Self-Starter with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• CNC programing experience with Amada laser and press brake software (preferred)
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering , Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting (varies by company).
• Experience with CAD tools such as inventor or AutoCAD preferred.
