Corporate Controller

Location - Charlotte, NC - onsite 4 days per week - relocation will be considered for the right candidate

The Corporate Controller is a key contributor to the growth of this acquisition-focused home services provider. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment focused on growth and have a continuous improvement mindset. This individual will lead the accounting and reporting functions in building a world-class accounting function with the ability to continuously scale operations to accommodate multiple acquisitions and organic growth yearly.

R ESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and reporting requirements as the leader of the operational accounting team.
• Maintain internal control safeguards over company assets and operating environment.
• Work with the CFO to establish and monitor financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, management reports and information on a consistent and timely basis, including timely production and interpretation and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow.
• Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic “hands on” leadership that creates an environment of trust, teamwork, productivity, and consistency.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve documentation of processes and procedures to produce consistent reporting of financial results of multiple business units and facilitate efficient integration of multiple acquisitions each year.
• Monitor reporting and compliance requirements and covenants of lending institutions and financial investors/Private Equity sponsors.
• Deliver monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements to internal and external parties on a timely basis, assuring accuracy.
• Understand and maintain ERP system operations, identifying and correcting system issues as necessary to maintain integrity of financial information.
• Support the annual audit of the Company.
• Coordinate and support all tax and regulatory reporting requirements.

S KILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting – Advanced degree preferred.
• Professional accounting certification – CPA or CMA
• 5 years’ experience managing as a senior-level accounting leader (previous Controller experience preferred)
• Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software, Sage-Intact a plus
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
• Track record of developing and reporting on financial results across multiple business entities
• Exemplary track record of building, managing and evolving accounting teams.
• Proven track record of building accounting processes and procedures and maintaining strong internal control environment in a rapidly growing organization.
• Superb organizational and time-management abilities
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial activity to improvement opportunities.
• Operating in a private equity owned environment is a strong preference.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
