PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304
• Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1850-$1900
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Royal blue and white
• Guaranteed Hours: All contracted shifts guaranteed after 2 call-offs per 13-week assignment

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of North Carolina or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Must pass EKG exam (no exceptions)
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and between similar units
• Locals not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Pending RN licenses not accepted
• Return staff policy: must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• System has a 2 contract limit (can only extend once, then must be gone for 6 months to return)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit, monitoring and assessing patients with complex medical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and document patient progress accurately using Epic
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital protocols and clinical standards
• Float to similar nursing units as needed to support hospital staffing requirements
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
