Job Description

Alexandria Law Group is seeking an additional North Carolina-licensed attorney to handle traffic court appearances in the Outer Banks / Soundside region (Dare, Hyde, Tyrrell counties) .

This is a low-commitment, high-efficiency contract role designed for attorneys seeking consistent supplemental income without administrative burden .

You will serve as attorney of record for assigned traffic cases , while the firm handles all case management, client communication, and operational work.

How This Role Works

• You are assigned as attorney of record for cases in your region
• The firm handles all case preparation, client communication, and scheduling
• Cases are fully organized and consolidated for efficiency
• You are not responsible for managing cases day-to-day
• You step in only for court appearances and legal judgment
• Workload is capped at 4 appearances per month; many cases are resolved without requiring an appearance

Responsibilities

• Appear in court for assigned traffic cases
• Handle consolidated dockets (typically 5–10 cases per session)
• Review pre-prepared case summaries prior to court
• Exercise independent legal judgment in negotiating and resolving cases
• Submit brief post-court updates through an online system

What You Will NOT Do

• No client intake
• No sales
• No ongoing client communication
• No billing or administrative work
• No scheduling or case management

Requirements

• Active North Carolina law license in good standing
• Ability and willingness to travel within Dare, Hyde, and Tyrrell counties
• Reliable transportation
• Strong courtroom presence and negotiation skills
• Responsiveness and timely post-court reporting

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience handling traffic, misdemeanor, or district court matters
• Familiarity with North Carolina traffic court procedures
