QualDerm Partners is dedicated to providing exceptional dermatological care in Wilmington, NC. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to join our skilled team. In this crucial role, you will support our Mohs surgeons and ensure the highest quality of care for our patients undergoing skin cancer treatment.
This position involves a dynamic range of responsibilities, from preparing patients for surgery to assisting in procedures and providing post-operative care. If you are detail-oriented and passionate about enhancing patient experiences in the field of dermatology, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for Mohs surgical procedures by taking medical histories and performing initial assessments.
- Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready and sterile.
- Provide post-operative care and instructions to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment in the surgical suite, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, maintaining patient records, and communicating with insurance providers.
- Educate patients on the Mohs surgical process as well as their conditions and treatment options.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role, particularly in a surgical or dermatological setting.
- Familiarity with surgical instruments and knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
