Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Mohs surgical procedures by taking medical histories and performing initial assessments.
• Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready and sterile.
• Provide post-operative care and instructions to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment in the surgical suite, following strict safety protocols.
• Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, maintaining patient records, and communicating with insurance providers.
• Educate patients on the Mohs surgical process as well as their conditions and treatment options.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical assistant role, particularly in a surgical or dermatological setting.
• Familiarity with surgical instruments and knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software.
• Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
