Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Sr, Test Engineer. This role is located out of Youngsville, NC. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates currently residing in the United States. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\nThe Senior Test Engineer is responsible for maintaining, designing, and deploying computer-automated tests systems and electrical equipment designs and requirements for electrical system testing. In this role, you will develop and maintain test and diagnostic programs, test fixtures and supporting equipment, and Implement test procedures and processes for assigned products. It\u2019s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential\u2014and where you can help us reach ours \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n \n\u2022 Specify, design, build, debug, validate and deploy the computer-automated test systems and processes to be used in manufacturing and subcontractor facilities. \n\u2022 Assist in the design and install of required infrastructure to test medium voltage and 3 phase electrical equipment. \n\u2022 Collaborate with design engineers to ensure design for test concepts are incorporated during the development phase. \n\u2022 Generate and implement complete test plans based on knowledge of the product and experience with test methodologies and capabilities in multiple locations. \n\u2022 Develop final-assembly functional test equipment and procedures for global deployment, as well as functional test equipment for external suppliers and value-adding partners. \n\u2022 Develop functional test equipment and procedures, and sub-assembly functional test equipment and procedures. \n\u2022 Conduct fault insertion and analysis to determine the equipment\u0027s test comprehensiveness, and make contribute to Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)and trouble-shooting procedures. \n\u2022 Implement statistical process control on the recorded test data. Collects data from the test fixtures and makes the test data available to the Quality team for analysis, and to other team members as required to meet project success factors. \n\u2022 Train test operators to understand the test process and to utilize and maintain test equipment. \n\u2022 Drive continuous improvement for all test processes. \n\u2022 Initiate and manage capital projects for test equipment, test facility enhancements and new product start-ups. \n\u2022 Implement Engineering Changes to enhance product quality (update test equipment, software and hardware changes). \n\u2022 Reduce cycle time and cost by applying \u201cLean Manufacturing\u201d techniques. \n\u2022 Maintain test documentation and equipment to meet ISO 9001 (including equipment calibration). \n\u2022 Develop and implement test strategies to insure product specifications are achieved throughout production. \n\u2022 Lead Electrical Safety implementations. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we \u2014 as individuals and as a company \u2014 are stronger.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology from an accredited educational institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical testing and designing automated test equipment and test processes \n\u2022 Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Master\u2019s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering \n\u2022 Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology\n\n## Position Criteria:\n\n\u2022 Knowledge of communication protocols and methods including TCP/IP, CANBUS, Serial, I2C, and JTAG \n\u2022 Knowledge of National Electrical Code Safety Requirements \n\u2022 Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc.) \n\u2022 Technical understanding of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements \n\u2022 Knowledge of C#, Visual Basic and LabView, SQL, Access, Active Server Pages, Teststand, REST, and Python is desired \n\u2022 Ability to demonstrate knowledge of test software \n\u2022 Successful execution as both an individual contributor and team member. \n\u2022 Ability to read schematics and interpret the behavior of electronic systems by the operation of embedded code. \n\u2022 Ability to demonstrate problem solving using logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions \n\u2022 Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills \n\u2022 Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
