### Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication systems, including voice, data, and video equipment. The Communications Technician will also work closely with engineers and other technicians to support the design and implementation of various communication technologies.

### Key Responsibilities:

- **Installation and Maintenance:**
- Install, test, and maintain communications equipment and systems, including telecommunication systems, LAN/WAN networks, and video conferencing technology.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on communication systems to ensure optimal functionality.

- **Troubleshooting:**
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to communication devices, cabling, and network systems.
- Respond to service requests and outages in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

- **Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and configuration changes to communication systems.
- Create and update technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and service manuals.

- **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with engineering and IT teams to assess project requirements and ensure all communication systems meet necessary specifications and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, helping them understand and utilize communication technologies effectively.

- **Training and Development:**
- Assist in training new staff on the use and maintenance of communication systems.
- Stay updated on the latest communication technologies and industry trends to ensure best practices are followed.

### Qualifications:

- **Education:**
- Associate degree in Communications Technology, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

- **Experience:**
- Previous experience as a Communications Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with telecommunication systems, fiber optic cabling, VoIP, and network troubleshooting.

- **Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of digital and analog communication systems and their components.
- Proficiency in network protocols, IP addressing, and wireless communications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- **Certifications:**
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, BICSI Installation Technician) are a plus but not required.

### Additional Requirements:

- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites as necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (indoor and outdoor).
