Registered Nurse - PCU
- Start Date: Immediate
- Shift: 6:45a-7:15p
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Recent progressive care experience
- Travelers will be required to float to other units if needed.
- Every other weekend required, no call required
- Estimated Pay package $2100 ( including stipend)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to individuals in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting and ensure adherence to treatment plans.
- Monitor patient status and vital signs, promptly reporting changes to the healthcare team for timely interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while educating patients and families on care procedures and health management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in compliance with industry standards.
- Perform necessary diagnostic tests and facilitate coordination with laboratory and radiology departments as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, preventive care, and the proper use of medical equipment.
Requirements
- Current and valid RN license in the state of practice; compact state license preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar setting is required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Proven ability to maintain calm and deliver effective nursing care in high-pressure situations.
- Strong critical thinking skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient and family interaction.
- Willingness to travel to different locations and adapt to varying work environments.
