Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Joint Commission accredited hospital in Wilson, NC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and MEDITECH proficiency.

Details

• Work on the 3rd and 5th floor Med/Surg units of a 294-bed, Joint Commission accredited hospital
• Each unit has 22 beds serving an adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratios of 6:1 up to 7:1
• Common diagnoses and treatments include surgical cases, PD exchanges, line/device placement, and psychiatric presentations
• Telemetry equipment is used on the unit
• EMR is MEDITECH; experience is required
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as a second nurse to Telemetry and ED
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or Compact state license required
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• MEDITECH experience required
• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must not be employed full-time elsewhere

Additional Information

• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Wilson, NC is located 45 miles east of Raleigh, approximately 2 hours from the NC coast, and within 1 hour of Duke, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University
