Bookkeeper

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage the financial records of our beauty retail store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording all financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and supporting the overall financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions (sales, purchases, returns, etc.) accurately.


• Maintain and update general ledgers, journals, and other financial records.


• Process accounts payable and receivable (vendors and customer invoices).


• Reconcile daily sales, cash registers, credit card payments, and bank statements.
  


• Prepare basic financial reports (e.g., cash flow summaries, sales reports).


• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.


• Assist in preparing for tax filings, audits, and year-end closing.


• Liaise with store managers and accountants for monthly financial reviews.


• Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred).


• Proven bookkeeping or financial clerical experience (preferably in retail).


• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks)


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and point-of-sale (POS) systems.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


• Good organizational and time-management skills.


• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

• On-site work at the beauty retail store or office.


• May require occasional weekend or end-of-month availability.


• Collaborative role with store management and external accountants.
