AuthoraCare Collective is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant . This position is Full-time (10 hour days) ; Friday, Saturday and Sunday at our in-patient hospice facility (Hospice Home) in Burlington, NC.
Job Summary
The Inpatient Administrative Assistant provides assistance to IPU management, medical staff, and other nursing leadership in the performance of diversified administrative duties. These duties also include support of the clinical staff.
Ensures scheduling all patient care staff, incorporating PTO requests, scheduled in-services, meetings, seminars, etc. IPU management in managing attendance and HR records for IPU staff. Consults with PRN/agency staffing resources to fill day-to-day open shifts as needed. Maintains agency staffing records for finance, payroll and compliance.
Assists with admission paperwork as needed. Communicates with IT and Clinical Informatics Specialist regarding EMR issues and updates. Ensures accurate patient information entered into EMR, submits timely electronic notifications of admissions, deaths, transfers, and discharges.
Requirements
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent experience
One year of office experience in a position using medical office skills
Excellent telephone, computer, and customer service skills
Knowledge of word processing software
Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to type 55 wpm preferred
Other: Valid state-issued driver's license required. Must carry automobile liability insurance at limits required by agency. Must have own transportation.
