Kennel Attendant - Animal Care of Greenville

Encore Vet Group
Greenville, NC
Overview:

Care for animals. Support your team. Grow with purpose.

At Animal Care of Greenville , our village runs on teamwork, compassion, and a willingness to jump in wherever the pets need us with no ego and no drama. Many members of our team, including our doctors, registered technicians, and even our practice manager, started in foundational roles like this one.

Because we've seen firsthand:

The best medical professionals by learning the basics - observing, cleaning, handling, and caring.

We're searching for a Full-Time Kennel Attendant who wants to make a real difference, learn the ropes from the ground up, and grow with our team and our hospital.

If you love animals (and their people!), don't mind getting your hands (and scrubs) dirty, and want to become a rock-solid member of the patient-care team, keep reading. This may be your perfect place to start.

Why You'll Love ACG:

  • Culture that actually feels good - No toxic vibes. Just a wildly supportive crew that works hard, laughs harder, and celebrates the wins together.
  • Start with impact - grow with intention - This is step one of the veterinary career ladder. You'll build confidence and skill, then advance into hands-on patient care roles as you're ready.
  • A wildly interesting caseload - From puppies and kittens to exotics and advanced surgical patients, curious minds thrive here.
  • Rescue heroes unite - We partner with local rescue organizations to give pets a fresh start. You'll be part of those stories from day one.
  • We're a teaching hospital - We love to coach and develop our team. If you bring the hustle and curiosity, we'll meet you with training, mentorship, and growth opportunities.

You’re a Great Fit If You...

  • You're an animal lover with a strong work ethic.
  • You're reliable, positive, and eager to learn.
  • You take pride in a clean, safe, organized environment.
  • You're a team player - no job is beneath you.
  • You stay calm in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • You can lift 40lbs and stay on your feet.
  • You think humor is a survival skill.

Bonus Points: You've worked in kennels, pet care, shelters, or hands-on animal roles - but no experience is required. We're happy to train the right human!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Care for hospitalized and boarding pets (feeding, walking, monitoring).
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, and hospital spaces.
  • Assist with safe animal handling and restraint.
  • Support monitoring of pets before/after procedures.
  • Maintain laundry and hospital cleanliness (towels, bedding, etc.)
  • Comfort and calm our patients and shower them with love.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with teammates and be able to take direction.
  • Help keep treatment areas stocked and organized.
  • Help ensure clients feel welcomed, informed, and supported.
  • Assist with phone calls, check-ins, or relaying updates as needed.

The Spark We're Looking For

  • Kindness and curiosity
  • Adaptability - things change fast around here
  • Hustle - you enjoy getting things done
  • A can-do attitude, even on messy days
  • Respect for EVERY job on the team

If you've got drive and the right vibe, we'll teach you the rest.

Perks +Benefits

  • Competitive pay, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (some plans include free outpatient mental health care)
  • Generous CE allowance + paid CE time
  • Uniform allowance
  • Pet care discounts for your personal pets
  • PTO, floating holidays, parental leave, and military leave
  • A robust Employee Assistance Program (from finances to wellness and everything in between)
  • Access to Encore Vet Group’s library of training, CE, and career development resources
  • A 401(k) with up to 5% company match.
