Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Western North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: State-of-the-art hospital, nationally recognized for cardiac care
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / CV PreOp Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2010 - $2280
• Employment Type: Travel nursing job

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent critical care or cardiac stepdown experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• PreOp or perioperative nursing experience preferred

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and preoperative patients
• Perform large-bore IV starts, medication administration, skin assessments, and assist with arterial/central line and epidural placements
• Transport patients to the operating room (OR) and assist with induction, intubation, positioning, and skin preparation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, CNCs, secretaries, and nurse managers
• Float to other units within scope of practice and experience as needed
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR
