Position Title: Accounting Manager
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager with a strong foundation in construction finance to lead and refine our project accounting operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting strategic planning, and ensuring compliance across all construction initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cost tracking, financial reporting, and team leadership within a dynamic, project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

• Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports.

• Maintain accurate financial records through regular reconciliations.

• Oversee revenue recognition and WIP reporting using appropriate accounting methods.

• Manage job cost accounting, billing accuracy, and expense tracking.

• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies.

• Partner with billing and accounts receivable teams to align invoicing with contract terms.

• Monitor budgets and contract values to ensure proper billing and cost allocation.

• Collaborate with project managers to support forecasting and variance analysis.

• Coordinate with auditors, tax professionals, and financial consultants.

• Track and report on capital expenditures and fixed assets.

• Mentor and support accounting team members.

• Contribute to process improvement efforts, system upgrades, and audit readiness.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction-specific accounting standards.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of construction accounting and job cost systems.

• Proficiency in accounting and project management platforms (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, Foundation).

• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• MUST HAVE strong job costing, financial reporting, and statement interpretation skills

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in construction or specialty contracting.

• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA is preferred.

• Experience with AIA billing, subcontractor compliance, and retention tracking.

• Familiarity with sales and use tax regulations.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
