Skills and Competencies

  • Employment eligibility to work in the U.S is required, visa sponsorship is not available, and role is hybrid on-site in Charlotte, NC
  • 8–12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade web applications with strong ownership and end-to-end delivery accountability
  • Proven full-stack expertise across backend and frontend technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Angular, and modern UI frameworks
  • Strong backend engineering skills including API design, validation, error handling, performance tuning, and microservices patterns using OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and rate limiting
  • Advanced frontend development experience with Angular and TypeScript, including RxJS, state management (NgRx), accessibility standards (WCAG), responsive design, and micro-frontend architectures
  • Deep expertise with PostgreSQL including data modeling, SQL optimization, indexing, transaction management, and persistence frameworks such as JPA and Hibernate
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, Git workflows, automated testing, Docker, observability, and secure coding aligned to OWASP and SAST/DAST principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI concepts with hands-on experience using AI tools and implementing AI-powered solutions, combined with a commitment to responsible and ethical AI practices

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end full-stack development across backend services, frontend applications, and AI-enabled platforms to deliver scalable, high-performance enterprise solutions.

  • Design, build, and own full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Build and maintain REST APIs with strong governance practices including OpenAPI specifications, validation, error handling, compatibility, and optimization
  • Implement AI-enabled capabilities by integrating Python-based AI services such as retrieval-augmented generation and model gateways into core platforms and interfaces
  • Optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexing strategies to ensure data integrity, consistency, and high performance
  • Drive engineering quality through testing, code reviews, CI/CD automation, secure coding practices, and participation in production support and incident response
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams in Agile environments, mentoring junior engineers and advancing best practices
  • Deliver accessible, responsive user experiences and reusable UI components in partnership with UX teams, while resolving complex cross-stack technical challenges
  • Contribute to engineering excellence through documentation, automation, cloud deployment practices (AWS), and continuous improvement across tools and processes

About the Team

The Datamesh team builds scalable data platforms and APIs that make enterprise data reliable, discoverable, and ready for advanced analytics and AI use cases across Ratings Technology. The team focuses on delivering high-performance data services, enabling AI-driven applications, and driving platform modernization through strong engineering practices, automation, and an AI-first mindset, contributing directly to Moody’s core business and technology strategy.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $169,000.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
