North Carolina Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Wilson, North Carolina 27893
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery, OB/GYN, with med/surg overflow
• Unit Details: 6 L&D beds, 1 triage/recovery, in-unit OR, postpartum unit with 12 beds
• Electronic Health Record: GE Centricity/Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Fetal monitoring course completed within the last 2 years
• Ability to circulate in the OR for Labor & Delivery preferred
• Meditech EHR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Wilson, NC to qualify for travel nursing status

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns following AWHONN standards
• Monitor and assess patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
• Circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and assist with patient recovery
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float as needed to postpartum or med/surg overflow units
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment
