Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, operationally focused Accounting & Financial Analyst to manage our day-to-day financial data and monthly reconciliation workflows. In this role, you will be the primary driver of operational data entry within our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, while taking full ownership of our month-end account reconciliation processes.

Rather than building complex data models from scratch, you will serve as our financial data expert—ensuring ledger accuracy and partnering directly with our junior data analyst and IT personnel to help shape, design, and validate company-wide reporting and automation initiatives. This position requires a strong, practical command of accounting mechanics and the ability to maintain clean, audit-ready data.

Key Responsibilities

ERP System Management & Daily Ledger Operations

• Manage all primary daily transactional data entry into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including vendor invoices, purchase orders, and customer sales documentation.
• Oversee item tracking, inventory data updates, and associated ledger entries within Business Central to ensure real-time data integrity.
• Maintain organized digital financial records and systematically archive backup documentation within our cloud environment.

Reconciliations & Month-End Close

• Execute complete monthly reconciliations for all corporate bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts.
• Validate intercompany postings, analyze general ledger accounts, and clear discrepancies to ensure a clean monthly trial balance.
• Coordinate the month-end close schedule, ensuring journal entries, cost allocations, and accruals are posted accurately and on time.

Reporting Collaboration & System Optimization

• Act as the functional accounting expert to collaborate with our Junior Data Analyst and IT team to help design, test, and refine financial dashboards and business intelligence reports.
• Review monthly financial data outputs for variance anomalies, using your accounting acumen to flag data integrity or posting errors before reports are finalized for leadership.
• Partner with IT to identify process bottlenecks in Business Central and suggest workflow or field configurations to improve daily data-capture efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is highly preferred. (A CPA certification is not required, but a rigorous understanding of standard corporate accounting mechanics is mandatory).
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in a hands-on bookkeeping, corporate accounting, or financial operations role.
• ERP Requirement: Explicit, hands-on experience navigating and posting transactions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or recent Navision versions) is a firm requirement.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data sorting, filtering, and basic lookup functions). Comfortable collaborating across a modern Microsoft enterprise environment (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Attributes: High degree of data precision, natural troubleshooting capability, and a collaborative mindset when working with technical/data teams.
