PublicInput
Raleigh, NC

Job Description

Job Description

About PublicInput

PublicInput develops and supports Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions designed for government agencies and their consultant partners to facilitate and manage better communication with the public.

Based in Raleigh, NC, the company was founded with a vision to access and elevate historically underrepresented communities in the municipal and state planning process, while simultaneously streamlining cumbersome administrative work that so often prevents equitable outcomes.

With a shared background in planning consulting, the company's co-founders believe that technology can play a key role in making government more responsive and representative of communities' broadest needs.

About the Role & You

As a key member of the executive team reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our product and engineering vision, strategy, and execution. You will work closely with our Engineering Manager, supporting their growth and leadership of the engineering team.

Your leadership will drive the product vision, maintain PublicInput's market leadership, and support scaling from $5M to $20M+ ARR. You will bring a deep understanding of AI's role in streamlining product workflows, prototyping, and accelerating software development.

You've successfully scaled B2B SaaS products and teams at growth-stage companies. You effectively balance technical debt and innovation, prioritize urgency, and thrive in externally-focused, visionary roles. Your hands-on experience with modern AI tools and expertise in technology scaling and successful M&A efforts distinguish you.

What You Will Do

Strategic Vision & Leadership

  • Set and execute a bold product strategy in alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead annual and quarterly product planning cycles with executive collaboration.
  • Actively represent and communicate the product and technology vision to customers, partners, investors, and the board.
  • Engage in due diligence and technology integration for M&A opportunities.

Team Development & Management

  • Build out the product team to support the needs of our customers and growth. We think this could include a Product Manager and Designer, but want these to be your decision.
  • Support and enable the professional development goals of our engineering leadership and engineering team.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between product, engineering, customer experience, and sales teams.
  • Establish scalable practices to support rapid iteration, innovation, and technical excellence.

Technical Innovation & AI Integration

  • Oversee technical architecture and guide product roadmap execution.
  • Integrate modern AI tools and methodologies into product workflows to simplify processes and speed development.
  • Lead teams through significant product releases, platform modernization, and AI-driven enhancements.
Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product and engineering roles within SaaS environments.
  • Proven track record scaling teams and products from $5M to $20M+ ARR.
  • Expertise in balancing legacy systems, modernization, and innovative product development.
  • Extensive experience with strategic roadmap planning and successful product launches.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AI-driven software development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with successful M&A technology integration.

Preferred

  • Background in GovTech or mission-driven technology companies.
  • Prior experience as a founder or senior leader in a high-growth startup environment.
Professional Attributes
  • Strong bias for action and urgency.
  • Commitment to quality and accountability.
  • Visionary leadership with strong execution abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • Passionate about mentoring and talent development.
Compensation

This role pays a market-competitive base salary and is eligible to participate in the company's annual bonus plan.

You will also receive equity compensation through company stock options. PublicInput is backed by Growth Street Partners, a growth equity investor that led our Series A investment. The company has delivered sustained, profitable growth and has a clear line of sight toward a Series B milestone.

Benefits
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off: You know yourself best, so we trust you to take the time you need to maintain a rewarding work/life balance.
  • Group Health, Dental, and Vision Plan: PublicInput offers a company healthcare plan at no cost to employees, with options to add Dental, Vision, Life, and other benefits for their family.
  • Pre-tax 401 (k): The company provides access to make pre-tax contributions to a 401k program.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

PublicInput celebrates all people and is committed to working actively towards equity and accessibility for everyone.

We believe society is strongest when all of us are listened to, respected, valued, and can contribute to the decision-making process, no matter our race, sex, ethnicity, national origin, religious faith, disability status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

We seek talented individuals whose skills and experiences can help us transform the way government and communities work together.

We are committed to a nondiscriminatory approach and provide equal opportunity for employment and advancement in all areas of our company.
