Pizza Cornicione is the sister restaurant of Glasshalfull in Carrboro NC. “Cornicione” is the Italian word for the edge or rim of the pizza which we like to think of as – the crust. The cornicione of a Neapolitan pizza is an airy, raised edge that’s crunchy on the outside and light and soft on the inside. Pizza Cornicione prepares wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza, prepared with the finest ingredients by a great kitchen team.
As we prepare to open our dining room we are seeking an experienced Woodfired Oven Pizza Maker, or Pizzaiolo to join our team!
What you’ll do:
- Stretch dough, and build pizzas
- Cook each pizza in our wood fired oven
- Maintain positive working relationship with team members
- Ensure that all recipes, product, food preparations and food execution meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to culinary excellence. To the highest degree possible, ensure that kitchen & physical plant is kept clean, safe and up to all “A/100” level health code standards.
What we need from you:
- 1+ year of experience making pizza (wood fired experience preferred)
- Certification in Hospitality-related field, or equivalent (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating and communicating across teams
- English fluency and some spanish preferred, but not required
