Senior Accountant

Position: Senior Accountant (Contract, 10–12 weeks) covering a medical leave.

Location: Charlotte, NC – Fully onsite at Mallard Creek Polymers.

Industry: Specialty chemical manufacturing.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with possible overtime during month-end close.

Reporting To: Controller and CFO

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily sales invoicing and accounting transactions for multiple companies.
• Manage accounts payable, including wire payments, auto drafts, credit memos, vouchers, and payment processing.
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, prepaid expenses, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support bi-weekly payroll by allocating benefits and posting standard journal entries.
• Process employee expense reports through Concur.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end close and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and quickly adapt to new processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with JD Edwards ERP.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
