CAD Technician Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CAD Technician creates and develops 3-D CAD models of parts assemblies and drawings from existing digital 3-D CAD models verbal descriptions sketches and drawings. Develops CAD documentation compatible with tooling and manufacturing fabrication procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides CAD support to New Product Development Engineers in the development and manufacture of marine products.

• Performs CAD documentation for mechanical electrical plumbing hydraulic & other marine systems and parts

• Performs design engineering for manufacturability to achieve and improve best efficiency and quality.

• Develops and manages engineering bills of material.

• Verifies and applies Federal ABYC NMMA and International standards compliance for marine manufacture.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY

• Basic Engineering Aptitude.

• 3-D CAD Modeling Experience.

• Good Analytical and Quantitative Reasoning

• Familiarity with CATIA CAD software is a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regular computer work and sitting

• Occasional walking standing and lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures policies and practices.
