Building Automation SCADA Programmer

We are seeking a skilled PLC/SCADA Programmer to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. This position is crucial for developing resources for Ignition Perspective and Vision applications in critical technologies, including automation, control systems, and improving industrial and HVAC applications through innovative programming. Job Purpose
The SCADA Developer will be responsible for spearheading the development of advanced control and monitoring systems. This role involves working closely with customer business stakeholders to define requirements, developing cutting-edge software tools, and delivering comprehensive Ignition solutions that drive process improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to understand and define project scope and requirements for the Ignition solution.
- Develop proprietary software tools to support product development, commissioning, and R&D efforts.
- Design and implement Ignition solutions, including:
- Integration with industrial and HVAC applications.
- Configuration of system networks, including BACnet, Modbus, and Ethernet IP.
- Creation of Perspective and Vision user interfaces.
- Report generation and alarm configuration.
- Integration with SQL data sources and development of CSS, Python, and Python-based scripts.
- Conduct thorough testing, deployment, and provide ongoing support for all applications developed.
- Utilize your broad experience across various industries to contribute to project teams, offering guidance and expertise.
- Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced team members.
- Be willing to travel up to 30% to customer sites for requirement gathering, deployment, and support activities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA and Core Certification (Gold Certification preferred).
- Demonstrated capability in Perspective and Vision development.
- Solid experience in integrating Ignition with PLCs, Modbus, and Bacnet for advanced control and reporting functionalities.
- Proficient in Python development, including the use of Ignition's Expression Language.
- Deep understanding of BAS controls and Process Plant controls across various environments.
- Ability to independently manage and execute Ignition projects from initiation to client delivery.
- Proficiency in reading electrical, process control drawings, and P&IDs.
- Functional understanding of mechanical systems and SQL databases.
- Knowledgeable in IT networks, including controller communication protocols and Gateway networking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with DDC controls, and Modbus and BACnet protocols.
- Familiarity with Tridium or other BAS control systems.
- Experience with Active Directory and SAML 2.0.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
