A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical is part of the larger organization Montrose Environmental Group is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air water and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
We are currently seekinga Technician II for our M325B; GCMS laboratory located in Durham role is a combination of Technician and Junior Analyst. As a key member of the laboratory team this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Prepare supplies for shipping to Clients for sampling events
- Receive samples from Clients for Analysis by Method 325B
Basic operation of the Gas ChromatographyMass Spectrometry (GCMS)to ensure supplies are clean for use by Clients
Assisting Analysts with Quantitative sample analysis by Gas ChromatographyMass Spectrometry (GCMS) and all aspects of analyzing clients samples including preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports.
Sample and standard preparation
Basic Instrument maintenance
Maintaining clean and Organized laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records and documentation of supplies
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis equipment maintenance
- Maintain consumables and parts for instruments
Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner
Some weekend coverage to meet clients needs
Compliance with Enthalpys Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Compliance with Companys Health and Safety Plan
- Perform other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
- Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry Biology Environmental Science or related field.
Without supervision they must be able to routinely meet QA/QC requirements for the assays they perform.
- Their documentation timeliness and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory.
