Survey Crew Chief

D. H. Griffin Infrastructure has an immediate opening for a Survey Crew Chief.

D.H. Griffin Infrastructure is the Heavy Civil Construction component of the D.H. Griffin Companies. DHGI has built on top of decades of success in the wrecking and demolition industries to become one of the premier Heavy Civil contractors in North Carolina. D.H. Griffin Infrastructure is a Licensed NC Surveying Firm that provides construction layout and as-built services as part of our construction projects.

The Survey Crew Chief will work closely with our Survey Project Manager to provide onsite construction stakeout and data collection on our construction projects throughout the Carolinas.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Performing construction layout, UAS/drone-based photogrammetry surveys, and collecting as-built data.

· Utilize Trimble robotic total stations, GNSS, levels/lasers.

· Coordinate with Survey Project Manager and other Crew Chiefs to perform complex surveys, monitoring, and stakeouts.

· Conduct as-built verification on projects to ensure site crews are accurately recording installed utilities.

Additional responsibilities may include:

· Conform to the procedures of the company wide Safety Program and Quality Management Plan.

· Performing site calibrations and other project support services.

· Assist with training of construction crews and new employees in the proficient use of survey equipment such as auto levels, data collectors, and GNSS receivers.

· Position may require up to 30% travel.

Requirements:

· Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

· Must possess knowledge of site and utility construction principles and procedures.

· Must be experienced in layout of curb, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, retaining walls, etc.

· Must be comfortable working both independently and coordinating with on-site personnel.

· Must be able to attain an FAA Part 107 Drone Operators License.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Knowledge of Trimble equipment and software including: Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access, Robotic Total Station, Trimble Siteworks

· Familiarity with CADD software including: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center
