Location: Mooresville, NC. This position is on site and does not allow for work at home.
Work Times: 8a – 4:30p (Monday – Friday) Overtime should be expected.
Salary: Exempt – Not eligible for overtime after 40 hours in a workweek.
SHD Composite Materials Inc. manufactures advanced composite prepreg and has a growing global presence.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to assist in the management of various building and manufacturing projects. This role involves coordinating resources, schedules, and communication across teams, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget and spec. The Project Manager will work closely with various departments to support project goals and ensure the successful execution of all project-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and managing manufacturing projects from initiation to completion. This would be leading and facilitating teams in defining projects up front, including goal setting and metrics, identification, milestone and deliverable identification, resource and budget planning and schedule definition.
- Coordinate project activities, ensuring all project timelines are met.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to.
- Manage project documentation, including reports, meeting notes, and schedules.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project success.
- Facilitate successful project delivery for multiple projects, working with internal and external resources.
- Assist in resource allocation and ensure that resources are utilized efficiently, including but not limited to people, raw materials, etc.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and issues.
- Support budget management and help track project expenses to ensure they align with the approved budget.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving project-related issues and challenges.
- Manage risks proactively and address and document issues clearly and quickly with escalation when needed.
- Help facilitate project meetings and ensure accurate follow-up on action items.

Skills and Abilities:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience successfully managing and delivering numerous projects simultaneously or large, complex projects supporting strategic initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
- Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Must be able to coordinate onsite and offsite personnel and contractors, maintaining safety at all times.
- Must work closely with Environmental, Health and Safety at all times to ensure safety and environmental aspects of all projects.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Must be able to lead all phases of a project from planning and setup, monitoring, reporting and closeout.
- Gather requirements and translate them into clear instructions for external and internal teams.
- Coordinate equipment and resources effectively, both external and internal.
- Verbal and Written communication and presentation skills and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with participants from all levels of the organization as well as outside contractors.
- Must be able to negotiate pricing and planning.
- Must have strong follow up skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Experience with composite materials is a plus.
- Ability to provide solutions to complex issues as they arise, quickly.
- Must have flexibility and adaptability for changing workloads.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Must be quality minded.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment.
- Must be able to use email professionally and frequently.
- Must be able to work independently, self-directed.
- Must be able to work with a team.
Work Environment/Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform sitting clerical work for extended periods.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day at times.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel to offsites as needed.
- Must be able to use cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices for constant communication.
- Ability to work in both office, construction and manufacturing environments and wear all required PPE.
- Ability to communicate and manage effectively across all levels of management, external resources, and employees.
- Ability to lead by example
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime if required.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation and keyboarding as needed.
- Ability to safely, effectively and reliability receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment. Must have good vision and auditory senses.
