Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC (27103) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Duration: 18 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660 - $1700
• Unit: 2nd GI – Med/Surg Telemetry (30 beds, 10 Tele beds)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (may flex to 1:7)
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Scrubs: Navy and/or white
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Float to other Med/Surg units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• At least 1 year of prior travel RN experience (no first-time travelers)
• BCLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• IV start skills required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required

RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with GI conditions, anemia, infections, renal issues, and post-surgical needs
• Monitor and manage patients on telemetry for cardiac rhythm disturbances
• Perform IV starts, administer blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, ABGs, and heparin protocols
• Utilize rapid response teams and follow isolation precautions
• Float to other Med/Surg units within the hospital as required
• Document patient care using Epic (preferred) and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Collaborate with IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and other clinical support services
• Maintain a fast-paced workflow with frequent patient turnover
