CT Technologist Job Details

• Location: Salisbury, NC 28144 (Rowan County)
• Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Contract
• Start Date: October 8, 2025
• End Date: January 7, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (10:00pm – 7:00am), Saturday (9:00pm – 7:00am); alternative schedule Thursday, Friday, Saturday (7:00pm – 7:00am) may be considered
• Weekly Hours: 37-40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2010 - $2060
• Call Requirement: 3 days every 4 weeks (30-minute response time)
• Float Requirement: ER scanner and main department scanner
• Equipment: PACS required; Siemens preferred
• Unit Systems: McKesson

CT Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience in adult acute care, outpatient, and emergency department imaging
• Current ARRT (R), ARRT Advanced Certification, and BLS certification required
• Active North Carolina or Compact state radiologic technologist license at start
• Proficient in contrast media preparation, peripheral IV starts, and venipuncture
• Skilled in brain perfusion, CT arthrography, myelography, musculoskeletal trauma, aspirations, and biopsies
• Epic charting experience preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Pediatric acute care and Level I trauma experience preferred

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic imaging orders
• Prepare and position patients for CT procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
• Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology
• Adapt care based on patient age, condition, and ability
• Follow established protocols and optimize technical factors for patient safety
• Identify, prepare, and administer medications and contrast media
• Perform venipuncture and medication administration via infusion pump or power injector
• Evaluate CT images for diagnostic quality and confirm accurate patient identification
• Ensure completion of examinations according to protocol
• Timely review and transfer images and clinical data to licensed practitioners
• Operate EMR, RIS, and PACS systems for clinical documentation
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure
• Maintain compliance with federal and North Carolina state radiation safety regulations
• Assist with interventional CT procedures as needed
• Maintain high accuracy in patient positioning and exposure technique
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance as required
• Float between ER scanner and main department scanner as assigned
